I don't mind narrow-minded people having a pop at me for owning a Ford, but to accuse my car car of having any association with the worst engineered cars in the history of mankind is a bit much. And it's only here because this Ford guy is working on a Chevy 'cos we're mates, see? But I guess you are really only joking, right............?
Cheers, Martin

Hi SoCaz28, just to set the record straight here, as I posted the pic of sportroofs/Martins Mustang up, I will admit to having no shame in doing so  As Martin says I assume you're joking yeah? maybe a smilie might have helped a bit though. To be honest, although Martins a Ford owner, he isn't really a typical Ford guy, having worked on all types of high performance American cars for the last 30 plus years & I'm fortunate enough to have him work on mine now, just as he has with my two '55 Chevys, one being a 10 second street car, on which he did all of the mechanics, my '69 & '72 Firebirds & now my '69 Camaro. Oh & that Mustang will outrun virtually all street legal American muscle cars on circuit race tracks in this country

Anyway, here's a quick update on how things are going. here's a pic of the crossram being trial fitted into place to see what it sits like. Next is to bolt it all together & plumb in the fuel lines etc. It's getting there now...... :D

cheers...Nige

Well said, BillyBob! I thought this website and forum were here to celebrate the automotive icon that is Camaro. That is why I am here, I like Camaros as much as anyone and sad to say, seem to know more about them than most Camaro or Chevy owners. I am not brand loyal (unless attacked) and as Nigel says, I am probably not your typical Ford guy either, which may explain why we are still mates after 30+ years of motor muppetry and why he is doing such a great job of sorting out my long-suffering Mustang's bodywork and paint. An awful lot of effort has had to go into it this time :(
As for the racing thing, Heh heh, yeah, bring it on!
More fettling on the crossram tonight has it a step nearer to being in place finally.
Watch this space.......
Cheers, Martin

I think it's nice to have a friendly banter between different manufacturers, i read SoCal's comment in a jokey way :) I know there are some hardcore people out there that stick to a brand, i like to think that we are just "playing" the stereotype as mates do. I like anything that's an American Muscle car, whatever i own i think i'd have a friendly dig at the "others" and happily take one back as long as it's in good humour. I wanted a mustang for many, many years growing up and now have the chevy. As long as it has a V8 and american, i will always appreciate it :)

Anyways - Crossram is looking mighty tasty! How did it go over the weekend? you guys make some good progress?

Cheers!

Ray

Hi Ray, yes progress has been made on both fronts but I'll leave it up to Nigel to decide how much he wants to reveal here. I'm sure we are both looking forward to having our cars back, I know I certainly am, I have a race in a fortnight!
Cheers, Martin

Never really understood the whole 'Ford vs Chevy' thing in the US.. there's a similar 'Ford vs Holden' in OZ too...

very weird, they're all cars surely... 8-)
