Can anyone tell me how I change the wiper blades on my car please?

They are not the same as my English stuff!

I have looked for the clips it talks about in the manual but cant work em out. Can I just change the rubber part?

Thanks!
Alena

This isn't a good start! ;)

I've only changed my wipers once and I don't remember the clips being any different from standard type wiper blades, although I bought mine from a local motor factors and they included several types of clip. The only difference was that you have to open the bonnet to be able to lift the blade away from the windscreen.

The wipers are a pin type and don't have the normal attachment that halfords or bosch seem to have on them. The manual says push a lever on the arm to release. Only there doesn't seem to be one!

I will just have to only use her in the dry!

Should be a little spring to release the pin, Have you got the proper wiper arms for it?

Hi Alena and welcome if your wiper arms and wipers are original spec if you lift the bonnet lift up the arms and you should be able to see under the wiper and how it comes of (it should be the same as on most cars )hope this helps Cheers Neil

I bought a fresh set just before the winter started, cost me about £8 each from USAutomtive.
Easy swap - unclip one, stick the new one on.

If we are talking about a 3rd gen with ORIGINAL blades there is a spring in the wiper blade, You push a small screw driver or something similar through the little hole on top which will depress the spring and unlock the blade from the shaft on the arm, Its a bit of a fiddle but is the correct way to remove.
If you need pictures let me know.

Hi again, thanks for the reply - pics would help, pretty much everything on my car is original right down to the exhaust! Wipers probably are too!
