This time a GMC day van !!

I've wanted one for ages and when this low miler came up and didn't make the reserve on eBay, I took a chance and snapped it up using the second chance offer.

I don't drive that many miles so fuel economy isn't a big worry but with 2 children and a third only weeks away I needed a bigger car anyway. For the same money I'd only be able to afford a 10 year old, high mileage Passat over here so I reckon this was a better choice.

I've bought 2 of them before on eBay but once I'd won them the sellers both times have told me that they had made a mistake and so it's fallen through.

Third time lucky I guess, hope so anyway. Anybody know a good forum to jump into for day van owners. I've had a Google about and not found anything.

You lucky guy! I was talking about a Chevy Dayvan to my wife this morning! I'd love one to convert into an A-Team Dayvan! We have 3 kids so the Transam in no good for us all to go out in, thats why I sold my Camaro and got a Cop Car isntead.

I have seen a lot of Van owners on AACUK and AAC North West too.

lets have some photos when you get it!

This is it. I've not even spoken to the seller yet so I don't want to show the original photo in case he owns a Camaro and looks at this board ! :D

nice colour

if it comes with the V6 which I believe is 3.8 litre- did you know that this engine is 2/3 rds of the ubiquitous Chevrolet V8 350?

I did not know that. It's the 4.3L V6 and I think it's called a Vortec or something like that.

As Nige said, at least I'll get a few tools and old parts in the back when I bring it down here. :D

I can't wait until I have more children so I can buy a dayvan... I've always wanted one also. They look so much better than a Ford Galaxy etc... I do also keep an eye on ebay. You will have to let us know how you get on with it.

Cheers Tim.

I've bought parts from these guys a few days before they left Thornton Heath to move to Redhill. I didn't find the geezer that served me over friendly actually. I remember he was tall, 30-35 year old Italian type bloke and was a total @rse so I've not used them since (Autumn 2006).

For friendly and helpful service I would recommend US Automotive though - us-automotive@btconnect.com
