Hi guys I have been struggling to find the answer to sorting my speedo, the car was orig a auto with 2.73 rear and has been converted to manual T5 still using the 2.73 and 27" tyres so needless to say the speedo is somewhat out.

The speedo drive is electronic but looks different to the pics I have found, looks a cross between a cable drive and VSS, the driven gear is the same as a cable speedo mine is the red one. So the question is what driven gear will I need and will I get away with keeping the drive gear thats in the box.

Thanks in advance

This is what my driven gear looks like

I thought that the different colours represented different gearing ratios. Without having looked yet, i wonder if there's a guide posted somewhere on the internet that show which gear to use for which ratios?

How to post pics: When writing a message, scroll down and use the "attach file" option. Where possible, a photo sharing service can be used such as Flickr, Imgur etc. The image location (usually ending in .jpg) can be copy and pasted between the ][ brackets that appear when you click the 'Img' button (you can find this button at the top of the message box).

How to post youtube vids: Click on the 'youtubeHD' button at the top of the message box and in the middle of the ][ brackets that just appeared, copy and paste everything from the youtube web address that appears after the = sign i.e if this is the url: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cNqaPSHv0 just copy "K2cNqaPSHv0").

yeah the different colours are different number of teeth but I am unsure if I can use a different driven gear with the drive gear thats in.
as far as I know the red one I have is 22 teeth so I could get a 21 and 20 tooth one and try them but would be nice if someone had the answer instead of having to buy a handfull and having to try them all to get the correct reading

I've installed a GPS speedo, so I can change anything in the future and the speedo will always be correct. Will save you a lot of messing around, very easy to install.
