Anyone confirm that the hood & door hinges are interchangeable for 2nd & 3rd gens??? If they are, I need a passenger side Hood hinge & a driver side top door hinge if anyone has anything. Thanks. |

I'm pretty sure they're different.. but Transam/Firebird 2nd gen will fit too if you can find any.. |

The hood is different i'm afraid. I can take a pic of a 3rd gen today so you can see about the door hinges, but i think they are different too. I do have a spare passenger side hood hinge, with spring. Will need a clean up and paint but it's functional. Are the hinges knackered? You can get a bushing rebuild kit if the doors are sagging... |

Hi Camaro. well if i tell you that when I lift the Bonnet up the hinge on the passenger side seems to drop down, almost as if the spring is of a lighter tension rate. It is ok once resting back down on the rear stops. How much would you want for the hinge? Thanks! |

Silly question - and you may have checked already but are the bolts that attach the hinge to the inner fender nice and tight? There's a welded nut on the back of the fender, i wonder if there's a chance maybe that has let go? Are the springs the same size one each side? The fibreglass ones are about half the diameter so usually noticeable if it has been changed out. I'll get a pic of the hinge tonight, delivery would be between £8-15 but i'll check due to weight and size (where abouts are you located?). For the hinge itself, i'd be happy with £20 and then shipping ontop. They sell them used, repro and refurbished in the U.S for anywhere from £40 used to £80 new / repro + shipping. Cheers! Ray |

Not a silly question! I only thought about it after removing the hood & the fenders etc & cant check now. It did cross my mind about the loose bolts because I have stripped the whole car down now & i reckon whoever assembled it before had forgotten his tool box because 99% of all bolts were literally finger tight. even down to the propshaft bolts on the diff! I live on isle of wight but would have anything delivered to Chobham in Surrey. Thanks for the reply! Roy. |

Sorry for the delay, i didn't get out to the garage until this weekend. That is very worrying about the bolts being that loose!! Not sure what's worse - too loose, or overtight (to the point you have to cut the but / bolt out). Here's some pics, let me know! Cheers, Ray |
