Hey people, hoping someone might be able to give me some info. I need to get hold of a battery for a 4th generation camaro but dealer assistance is limited. Anyone be able to tell me the perfect battery make and model to fit and with the right cranking etc. Just so you know, the battery the car came with when I bought it was sh*te, clearly designed to get me home and then let me suffer, so I can't do a like for like swap. Cheers in advance |

Have you got side terminals? |

The current battery is literary just a small old battery with terminals on the top. The car hasn't been running as I bought it with accident damage. Think the old battery was damaged so they put this piddly little one in, it's clearly one they just use to move their stock around. So long as I can find a battery to fit in the hole and provides adequate CCA, I can modify the wiring to fit nicely. |

Summit Racing reckon you need something like an Optima RedTop 9022-091. Shouldn't be hard to find an interchange number - or just ring your local factors, give them the specs of the battery and they should be able to point you in the right direction. My local place had a couple of options, but giving them the dimensions and the details nailed it. |

Ok nice one, cheers. I did look into the optima red tops, but then their website recommended the yellow tops for most standard car applications. I'm guessing the power consumption of a camaro is low enough to not be an issue - not like there's electric doors or anything. |

Ah nice one, cheers. Space is definitely tight in that corner but now I have some options. |

I would go with a 550-650 cca battery I can get original AC Delco batterys which work out a little cheaper than the Optima ones. |

I managed to find a Redtop battery on eBay for £90 so couldn't resist. Seems too cheap to be true so be interesting to see if it actually turns up |
