The word on Isabelle is that the rad's gone kaput. The plastic tank's split, holding no pressure and basically pissing coolant everywhere.
I could spend £200 on an OEM replacement from USAutomotive, or I've seen an all ally Champion rad on eBay that's about £150 delivered.
First of all, I'd rather have an all ally rad, instead of the plastic end tanks. Just seems like trouble waiting having the plastic version.

Anyone know of an ally rad available in the UK that'll fit the '88?

Ta all. :)

Just ordered it. Fingers crossed it doesn't take too long to cross the Atlantic.

Cheers Rocky. As you can see, I went with a 2 row, but with larger 1" tubes and a couple of new fans.
Fingers crossed they're ok. If they're not, then they'll be back for a refund!

It's here. Finally.
I've got new hoses, new coolant sensor and a new gauge sender as well.

It's not bad. The welds seem.... varied. Some look great, other's not so much.
And the cap's been dinged in transit and won't come off. I'm sure a pair of pliers and some brute force would be adequate - hopefully my Stant Lev-R-Vent will fit.

Dropping the bits to the garage tomorrow, so hopefully Isabelle will be keeping nice and cool. Just in time for winter...

Ok - well the rad's in.
It is not a direct fit replacement. It's too tall.
The guys had to modify/trim the plastic shroud at the top of the rad to clear the filler neck.
I'll get some pics later so you can all see for yourselves.
My temperature gauge is working once more - seems swapping the gauge sender did the trick. It does leap to either 50% or 100% of the way up the gauge when I switch off though - with the engine running though, it's operating as you'd expect.
So that's a win!
