I managed to get the clocks out by dropping the steering coloumn, but dispite serching the Net and turning myself into a contorsionist under the dash I just can't work out how the black centre section that houses the Radio, Heater controls etc comes ot. I can feel screws from the back but they're covered by the black inlays. So back to this font of excellent and seemingly endless, info how do I do it boys? |

Hi Russ,So back to this font of excellent and seemingly endless, info how do I do it boys? The entire dash is metal - and not removable, well that what it is on a 68 Camaro - take a look at my car in the project section, and look for the pictures where it has come back from being blasted - it's all metal. hope that helps. Cheers, Mark |

hi Russ, the panel in question (on mine at least), is held in with self tapping screws, originally though, i think that it hooks into the main dash pannel, and is secured by 2 screws on the bottom of the pannel, either side of the ash tray. Dont take this as gospel though as mine was pretty well butchered in he past ! incidentally, sorry to hijack this thread, but does anyone know where i can get a new one of these pannels that have no openings at all? (i see them on us ebay, usually described as an all options/heater/ashtray/stereo delete pannel.....the only problem is, they wont ship to the UK !) |

Thanks chaps, ill try the screws at the bottom. It must be them, its had a sterio in the black plate thats inside of the chrome trim, it had to be cut out, I sooo dont want to pagger it. You can just see it here, heater system inside black, then the sterio cut into the black plating, I can def feel screws from the back but the heads are under the black plate, its messing with my head this one!!! |

aaah I see what you mean now, what I would call trim, was held on by self tapping screws, so came off really easy, which was not the best |
