Hey all, Just in the process of installing the steering column and not sure on 2 things. 1) Should the flat metal plate that sits against the firewall be touching the firewall? Currently i have a 1/2" gap and not sure if this should be there? Which leads to my 2nd question: 2) Should there be any caulk/sealant between this flat meal metal plate and the firewall? Or is it metal to metal? Also, if i buy the jute firewall padding, should this go on the firewall, then attach the steering column? And for a final question, is there some sort of "boot" rubber fitting that is supposed to be visible on the engine bay side of the column. wonder if anyone has close up pics maybe of the engine side of the firewall? Thanks!!! Ray |
