Hi all, Finally starting to put the 2nd Gen back together, but my screw / bolt organisation wasn't good. Just wonder where i can get new screws from? I'm finding i'm needing varying sizes, not sure if i can just go into a hardware store and buy anything that looks like it will fit? The screws i have are quite rusty or heavily dirt and grease ridden and seeing as i've painted everything off the car, want to whack some nice shiny screws in there. Sorry for the amateur question! Cheers, Ray |

Hi Ray, you'll probably find that B&Q won't stock the right threads for what you want. As you know NPD do screw/nut & bolt kits for most parts to be fitted. I went to my local stainless steel supplier & bought all new satin finished (don't like shiny ) nuts, bolts, washers & screws. I took a sample of each one that I needed, after having worked out the quantity to be used & bought everything as a job lot & it wasn't that expensive either. Almost every nut, bolt, screw & washer on my '69 is now stainless, although I have painted quite a few satin black where I wanted to keep it looking factory/subtle. ( after sanding them down & etch priming them ) The company I used was CG Rees, here's a link top their web site, maybe they'll do mail order for you. http://www.metalstock.co.uk/supply/supplyfront.htm Here's a few more for you http://www.ukstainless.co.uk/?gclid=CLW ... 4QoddyOgXQ http://www.leofixings.com/fixings-produ ... 2-220.html http://www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk/ http://www.nuts4bolts.com/da/9803 http://www.nutsboltsandthings.co.uk/ or good old NPD if yopu want original stuff http://npd.dirxion.com/WebProject.asp?B ... flx&from=2# Hope that helps cheers.....Nige |

The kits I get for customers cars normally have all the bolts included, They are normally m8 bolts on a 2nd gen, I do custom m6 ones for the 3rd gens but non for the 2nd gens yet. |

Cheers for the help Nige and Rocky, Still having no luck, popped down to a local hardware store and tried a variety box but the threads turned out to all be metric. A while back i got the NPD front sheet metal kit so i've got most of the engine bay area sorted, but they don't have the front stuff pictured above included, including the side radiator support bolts etc. I've also been working on the interior today and most of those screws need replacing and last time i spoke to NPD they said there are only interior screw kits for 1st gens. Have tried classic industries & ecklers camaro but same thing, front sheet metal kit or bust! At a bit of a loss here, i will be able to use your links for most of it i think, thanks Nige, but there are some screws that have disappeared (some had to be drilled out stubbon bastads ) so i haven't any templates for them. Will gladly welcome any more ideas Update on the project... wiring is almost back in, paint failed on the cowl (am peeling it of with the my nails!) so i need it to get warmer before i can repaint so the front sheet metal is back off until then. Nearly had it Cheers, Ray |

Alright, i found a local supplier (Apex Fasteners in slough trading estate). Gave them the template screws and nuts and they hooked me up. Never been so happy about a box of screws so the camaro is fast being bolted together now They'll do you mail order if you need, just give them the sizes you need or send them the templates you need. Cheers, Ray |
