I take it you used a plastic primer first on the kick panels?? If not, 2 Pack on its own can scratch off if scuffed, as there's no "chemical bond". In the past I've also used cellulose paint on plastic trim parts like that, as the solvents in the thinners "etch" the paint to the plastic but remains flexible & won't crack or scratch off.

Here's a little gem for some of you, years ago it was common practice to add some linseed oil to celly paint. This enabled you to change the colour of interior trim items such as seats, door panles, headliners etc. The linseed oil made it extremely fexible. Once painted you'd never know that those items weren't that colour originally & were very hard wearing, to the point where I never saw any flake off or crack. This is in the days before products like "Vinylcoat" upholstery paint

I scuff the surface very lightly with scotchbrite first for a good key then use the wet on wet with a little extra thinner to "bite" into the plastic then use plasticizer in every coat of paint to make sure not just the clear which is done on most factory cars. Most 2k paints nowadays dont need additives as they stay pretty flexible now anyway.
I have heard alot of people have used the rattle can dyes with good effect but have not seen any in person.

I use the SEM stuff, a bit pircey at £30 a pop :( but i like the result, looks very OEM stlye.

Lays well onto hard interior plastics and softer ones i.e sun visors.

Thanks Neil :) No other updates really as i've been workin on small things around the car but i do have this pic of the roof minus the sunroof!
Hopefully this weekend will be able to get the interior in, headliner etc. Tasks after that will be to do the lights - wiring to convert to UK spec then it's onto the exhaust (whole system inc headers) then cut n buff, bit of suspension work to get new dampers in and u bolts to replace t bolts, fit windows, check timing, change oil and it all sounds so easy lol.
