Hey all,
getting close to putting the 2nd gen back together
and have a 3 part question:
1) Installing window tint film - do it now that the window is out? or wait to have it fitted in
2) Can i install the windows (front and rear) myself - is it safe and long term?
3) don't paint the window area on the car?
1) I'm planning on putting in light smoke tint film on the rear window, which is easy to do now that the window is out of the car. I'm worried that if install the film, then install the window, it is in fact the tint film that is adhering to the car which doesn't sound too good to me. but will be more a pro finish and far easier to do out of the car.
2) Would it be easier to call someone like autoglass to instal? I've seen a couple of things like window weld from 3M but don't know if it is meant for window installation.
3) I read somewhere recently that you should leave the window sill (is that the right name? - the bit the window glues onto) in epoxy / etch primer as top coat doesn't hold aswel - any word on this? Mine is in primer ontop of epoxy already, so not sure whether or not to top coat or mask off?
Thanks for your help in advance!
Ray
