Ok found my old plugs....They're NGK (R...Just under the ngk emblem whatever that means) BPR4FS

I replaced them with NGK 2623 OR BPR6FS depending which part number you like to use lol

Quick and dirty coil test for the GM waste spark system.
Take the plug wires of one of the three coils, bend a paperclip over one of the coil posts and bend the clip so that there is a 9 - 10mm gap between the end and the other coil post. Start the engine and watch for a good healthy spark. If it looks good connect the plug wires back on and do the same to the next coil.
If you have a weak spark, change the coil.
You can do this without a paperclip and it will still jump the gap, but it puts a bit of a strain on the IGBT and can cause the module to fail.

As a side note I converted my 1949 Ford 8N tractor from points to waste spark, so I have a fair working knowledge of the systemImage

I think i got to the botton of my annoying missfire everyone :) guess what it was...the car just needed using!!!
iv done around 1000 miles in it the last 3 weeks and its so much better! i cant believe it!
i cleaned out the idle speed control valve which helped a little on idle then just drove thinking it will either get unbearable or cure itself....luckily it did the latter! lol .
i guess it should have been something to try sooner really according to paper work the cars done 1100 miles in the alst 18 months including having the LPG kit fitted and an engine rebuild so i guess it just needed bedding in a little.
thanks loads for all the suggestions everyone though :) i will keep them in mind for future problems should they arise (hopefully wont though! :)

so pleased everyone on here is really helpful thanks again
