I couldn't recommend one specific book to read as most of them cover many different aspects of "the dark art"
. The best thing to do is to allow your brain to be a sponge & read up as much as possible from as many sources availabe to you. It's always a good idea to enrol on night classes in body repair at you local college, as they can show you how to weld & carry out repairs etc. Note that I said show you, as it takes a while to "learn" how to do these things, but with enthusiasm & practice anything is possible, but it's knowing how to do these things is most important to the novice.
I used to have my own bodyshop specialising in top end exotica/classic restorations, but I'm also a qualified college lecturer in Vehicle Body Repairs. If it's of use to "club members" then I'd be happy to answer questions relating to this (maybe as a sticky?). If a specific question is posted up, then I'll try & answer it in as much details as possible. Everyone can add their advice, thoughts, experiences, views etc to the thread to try to give as much info/help as possible to others? There's endless subject matter that can be covered from the very basics of dismantling a car right through to the final detailing once it's completed. Just keep the questions specific so that the answers given can actually answer the question
Hope that helps, cheers..........Nige
