Hi guys, just a quick question: i'm wanting to save up for a 4th gen camaro (probably a 3.8 v6 as thats what i'll be able to afford) but I know the earlier models of the 3.8 didn't have traction control. Just wanted to know if you thought this was an issue or not? I'd be using it mainly in the summer here in the UK but would probably be using it during some rainy weather too. I kind of just want piece of mind that it wont be drifting everywhere in wet weather if I were to get one w/o TC. Thanks in advance! |

I doubt you'll have any issues as long as your not booting it in the wet. |

My Z28 has TC, haven't switched it off yet. Still hangs the ass out, in the dry. On purpose. But it did catch me out once on a wet roundabout. |

I have an Ss where traction control was not an option, it has a torsen differential and is good as gold in the dry but a real handful in the wet if you drive it like an idiot |

Thanks for the replies guys! Taking all that into consideration, do you think i'd be ok with a 3.6 Auto V6 without traction control if I drove it 90% in the dry and only occasionally in the rain for odds trips to the shops/round town etc? I'd be planning on storing the car in the garage for the most part and using it as a summer car and for shows, but obviously in the wet i'd like to take it out for the odd trip too. |

You should be fine, just remember you are in a rear wheel drive car and drive accordingly into bends and roundabouts, i.e. take the lead out of your boots I have a Z28, and it has yet to give me a reminder of the above, but I'm sure it will at some point |

Ok awesome, thanks again. On a separate topic, how much do you think i'm looking at spending for a decent 3.8? This one is up for 3.5k at the minute and looks lovely, do you think thats a reasonable price? https://www.gumtree.com/p/other-cars/19 ... 1270318968 If I had the money i'd probably buy that one right now, but as i'm in the process of saving for a house/wedding I don't think it will be any time soon! |

V6's sell for peanuts and 3.5k sounds like a lot of money, remember people were driving without traction control for decades before it was invented, it's all about the right foot regardless of the engine cc |

You will be fine without TC, you can usually feel when it's about to let go, just back off a bit. |

Thanks guys, really appreciate all the replies. Do you guys store your 4th gens in garages over winter? Also a bit worried that if I buy one i'll have nowhere to leave mine other than on the road |
