Cool find enjoyed that. Does yours have the LT4 engine in it then? |

Nope, mine is the LT1 but has every option like the LT4, from what I have found they made 104 LT4 engined coupes but only 83 LT1 coupes as most were t roofs or convertibles, I have six speed, oil cooler, Torsen diff, hurst shifter, level 2 bilstein suspension etc. . I have yet to find another fully optioned LT1 car anywhere as the SS package just got you a bonnet scoop induction, exhaust and some badges. it seems only in the last year people have realised how rare and collectable they are, they only made around 1000 30th year SS models in total and they came in all colours and styles |

Crikey, were those all dealer / factory options?

Yes, the SS Package got badges, induction and hood scoop then everything else was a tick box option sheet for the performance parts, then another tick box jobbie for the 30th anniversary package which got the white paint and hugger orange stripes and a white leather interior (some came with houndstooth fabric inserts). Mine has every option available including the floor mats. Ive had it two years and the price has gone through the roof in America, they are commanding around $18-20,000 in the us for an LT1 engined version which is double what people were asking when I got mine, lots of clones about though but there is a register that authenticates them as a far as I can tell this is the only one In Europe, a couple listed in Sweden but they could be standard SS models and not loaded anniversary ones. The only non standard items are a 13" corvette front disc conversion, I added a plug in "jetchip" which should take it to around 350bhp and picked up an SLP lightened balanced flywheel from the bay of fleas for £20! Cost me £40 to have it refaced, it's quite nippy now and I guess mid to high 4 sec 0-60 and high 12's in the quarter if all the literature is correct |

Ooofff, give my LS1 a run for its money! Spot on. Always thought the LT1 sounded better are you running the standard SLP exhaust? I have seen your car once, years ago (2009 ish). Must have been yours as thlike you say not many around! |

It's an aftermarket exhaust system not sure of the make, LT1 engines produce more torque apparently |

Have you ever had your LS on the Dyno? They were grossly underrated by the factory for insurance purposes and the last "stock" (the guy owned it from new) 4th gen I know of that way dyno'd made 425bhp, they retested it as everyone thought the Dyno had broke :-) |

I think the LT1 has its torque come on really strong low down the rev range. Its a bit higher up with the LS1. Never had it dyno'd but the old butt dyno definitely says its quicker than the old car. Mines a early LS1 though so it doesn't have the LS6 intake like the later cars. |

My LS1 and I have been to quite a few events (mostly Ace) with Twistedsanity and his lovely SS. Would I race him, hell yeah, for fun. Would I bet money against him, mine's an auto, so not in a million years |
