Buying a '96 v8 from a dealer and I am hopefully collecting the car in a few days.

I asked for the mirror to be fixed as the motor won't adjust it. Probably had a bang at some point. You can hear the motor working but the linkage must be broken. The dealer says he can't fix it. How hard is it to fix and does anyone know the best place for parts?

Is it the import (square folding mirror) or the American spec?

The glass is shaped and not square. I have been told it originally was exported to Japan then came over here (Speedo now miles while odometer is in kilometres). The car is still with the dealer or I would have included some photos to help. Got a bone to pick with the dealer as car was advertised as a 30th anniversary but how can it be if it is a '96 car and no orange stripes?

Hmm if its a export it should have the square type folding mirrors. Mine was a Yanase (Japanese dealer who imports yanks) it had folding mirrors.

Also mine was a 30th anniversary. It should have embossed 30th logos on the seats and the newer facelift interior.

I'm going back to see the car next week and have a look. Pretty sure there were no logos so it will be an interesting meeting.

Ok thats going to be a bugger to get parts to fix. It's a export spec mirror only.

Checked another forum and one guy bought US spec mirrors which he said fitted easily enough so may try this.

My car details say it was made in 96 but its a full 30th anniversary model as well and the Arctic white paintwork and hugger orange stripes were a paid optional extra but technicaly any 1997 camaro is a 30th anniversary model, you can always buy the stripe kit from the bay of many fleas and fit it at home, have you picked it up yet?
