Hi, would like advice on how to know which differential is fitted to my Z28 6-speed 5.7 1995? Manual says to add 4fl oz of additive if it is LSD unit.........also where can I buy the stuff? Cheers.... |

Hi CaptnGeoff Im not sure what lsd is in yours I dont even know what my lsd is called  I'll try n find out Just had a quick butch on the net an found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TORCO-LIMITED ... 4861685981 I havent seen maudy on here for a bit but he would know off the top of his head

my rep precedes me... In the 95 i'll think... you'll have the Auburn LSD. These are a cone style LSD, where springs in the housing help to push the cones into the housing in situations of high torque (might not be 100% how it all works and when but you get the idea). In this case you will need some modifier. I would use as GM advise. The modifier actually makes the LSD slip. If you dont include it , the diff will lock out under general driving quite a bit and may chatter..plus it will wear out sooner. I wore mine in one season of drag and occasional drifting  as I didnt run modifier for about 6 months and used crap oil :S

My 1997 Camaro has a slow leak from the diff cover. It has an LSD fitted aftermarket but I don't know which one.......and therefore have the same issue regarding diff oil change and additive |

Demon Tweeks used to do GM and Ford diff additives. Worth a look. |
