Hi, anyone know how to fix my Bose Delco CD player? :shifty:

Looks to be factory fitment on my Z28 '95 6-speed manual.

It sounds great ( the Bose) but spits CD out without playing it, after a short time thinking about it.......the radio works great.

Any help / advice welcomed, cheers.

Hi CaptGeoff
Ive not had the head unit out of mine but its worth taking the top off and having a look inside when disconnected ofcourse
Many audio units ive seen with different faults over the years have been caused by foriegn objects mainly coins 2ps etc

Try putting a cd cleaning disc init also may help

Just have a look around the sides top n bottom making sure there nothing that could cause it to get too hot

Apart from that is there a audio repair service man in your area ???

Hope this helps
Stu

Mine does the same, also in a 95. You hear a loud 'pop' when turning it on ?
Ive tried disc cleaners ect but still got the problem.
I asumed it was waving a white flag after 19 years ?

Is it major hassle to instal an aftermarket head unit with the Bose system ? (I'm sure I read this somewhere ?)

Just a thought, can you plug an ipod lead into the back of a Bose CD player ?

Any info on swopping to a modern aftermarket CD player would be very helpful. So would how to get the darn thing out the dash lol.

I think the answer is "they all do that sir" at least for Bose.

I looked online for a possible ipod connection for mine, but I couldn't find anything

I don't mind the popping, its the chucking out the cd's & skipping that's a pain in the wotsits.
