Post subject:  Bloody Kids !!!

Well i was cleaning the z28 at the weekend when my youngest daughter come out to see what im doing and before i could stop her she pulling on the seat belt guide thats on the side of the headrest i guess to get in the rear seat and snap its no longer on the drivers headrest :(

Ive had a look on fleebay with no luck
I did find one us website but out of stock
So im thinking of taking the guides to a local machine shop which has made stuff for me before to see how much it would cost to make out of ally an depending how much i may look into getting them chromed ???
All cost dependant of course :think:

Are you on about the plastic bit thats screwed to the top of the seat?

Hmm I might have one. I think BigKieko gave me one when I bought the car but I don't know if there handed. :think:

Im off to the engineering shop tomorrow just to see how much some metal ones are going to cost if its not too bad might look into getting them chrome plated :think: :think:

Has/can anyone photoshop a 4th gen headrest (Tan colour) and chrome the seatbelt guide :think: :think: :think:

If its silly money i prob end up going with Malc's input :thumbup:

I was quoted £22 each plus vat when i broke mine, and that was in primer. no tan ones available.

I was not impressed as i had broken both in two seperate incidents over one weekend.

So i managed to repair them with some glue and put some wood screws up the inside of the plastic shafts (pre drilled and countersunk) to strengthen them.

Three years now and still fine. Nobodys ever noticed the fix. half hour job.

The local engineering shop wanted too much unless i ordered a 1000 of them :thumbdown:

heinz5774 thats cool that you were able to fix yours :thumbup: As for mine its snapped across the middle of the base plate screw holes so theres no point messing about just got to get some new ones :doh:
