Hi again, :wave:

My AC compressor makes a racket from time to time as the clutch rattles and grinds on the pulley. :thumbdown:
Does anyone know which belt to use if you wish to bypass the compressor pulley all together :?:
I know you can get a by pass pulley that you install once you've removed the compressor but it seems a grey area as to what's entailed when it comes to fitting them to a 3.8 series II engine.

This wouldn't fit my engine as mine's a series II V6 from a forth gen.

Unfortunately, those will not fit my engine.

I know ZZPerformace do a bypass pulley for the 3.8 series II engine that you can make work but I'm now just toying with the idea of just fitting a shorter belt and do away with the need for the pulley all together!

I've heard that an 802K6 belt will do the job but has anyone here done this?

I fitted a shorter belt on my 3.8 ,but sits very tight to the heater pipe outlets,if you twist the connecter thing all the way it does clear, been on there a month or so now with no pobs,i put a 2080 mm belt on ,bit of a lash I know ,but it works till I get the bearing sorted on the a\c pump,if you can get hold of a 4 rib instead of the 6 rib it will have more clearence
