Well where do I start....

I've bought BigKieko's car :o

Drove back from Scotland on Sunday night in torrential rain but the car performed brilliantly.

It's awesome and I'm so chuffed to have a Camaro back in my life :D

Mr Kieko is a very very nice bloke who drove a 4 hr round trip to pick us up from the train station. Top man

I feel like I have taken one of his kidneys away with me as this is the best 4th gen I have ever seen.

Anyway here are some pics but you've seen the car before. Yes I will get a front plate on it (although it looks so good without :shh: )

:eh: Firebird, you mean a nice classic one right? 76 maybe with at least a 400ci in it? Maybe a 455

Congrats Dunc
Just a question how does your new 4th gen stack up against your old early 4th gen i know the motor lt1-ls1 and interior different etc
But just over all much difference in ride ,handling ,power etc
Dont know anyone else who has owned both early and late 4th gens
Cheers Stu

Hi Stu,
Good question :?:

I had the 97 LT1 so the interiors the same except the 99 doesn't have the embossed 30th anniversary in the seats. Bizarrely the back of the seats on the new one don't have cargo nets but the old ones did? Anyway hardly riveting stuff onto the driving...

The 99 has 17" wheels and I think its been lowered so the handling is A LOT better. Not much body roll. It also has Vet Z06 brakes which are $hit hot, really does stop well. The LT1 scared me more than once with its brakes, very poor.

Engine wise its hard to tell the difference. I think it's a bit quicker but thats probably helped by the manual gearbox. The 97 was the 4L60 box and it ain't sporty! 99 has the hurst shifter fitted and although its a very direct gearbox, no sloppiness, I love it. Clutch is reasonably light, same feel as my wifes IS250.

Overall a superior car by quite some way in my opinion. :chevy:

Wait till the roads are nice and dry then find somewhere to use that `top end` LS engines love to rev.

My 1800cc Focus doesn`t quite cut it  But it`ll be getting the bullet soon anyway. I`m back to the bowtie for the time being. :chevy:
