Post subject: | Trans am air lock |
I have recently replaced the antifreeze in my trans am and created an air lock in the system. I have been told they are a pain to sort out. I know there are two bleed valves but I have had no success in getting the water light on my dash to go out. I am worried as when I get stuck in traffic the heat rises considerably. Does anyone know of a how to guide to sort this pRoblem. Thanks in advance on this. |

I fill my rad with the new coolant not quite to the top and run the motor until the thermostat opens, you can see the coolant start to flow. Then I shut it off replace the cap and fill the overflow canister to the hot level. As it cools down the system sucks water in from the canister and you should be airlock free. Top up overflow canister as needed. |
