Car Details:Hi Guy's, she's a 91 met grey 3rd gen with a 305 V8 and T tops, and a genuine 26,000km, no rust, landed from japan in 2005, 3 uk owners and I love to bits.....
Hi guys, hopefully I might have sold my 3rd gen this weekend as I need the money from it to buy my ex wife out of her half of the house, also my daily driver
Smart is up for sale too. I'll not be able to afford to run 2 cars anymore so im thinking of a 4th gen daily driver 3.4 or 3.8.. What can I expect mpg wise on
the daily commute to work ? (country roads no traffic).. :D :D :D

Cheers
Jason..

It depends how enthusiastic you are with your right foot

Seriously though, there isn't a great deal at all, if anything, between the 3.8 V6 and the 5.7 V8. I've got a Camaro SS which has the V8 and I've had a little over 30 mpg on a motorway run (being careful).

The V8 will also be more sought after if you don't get on with it and want to sell it.

Cheers

Mike.

Yep don't both with the smaller engine to save mpg, seriously not worth it. I used to get 28mpg when I used to commute with the LT1. Not bad.

indeed the V8 will still get about 30 on the run, which the v6 with only do.

clearly you need to factor in insurance and the car cost, could be upto £2000 cheaper for a 3.8 vs the 5.7.
but then v8 will hold value better :)

To be honest my 3.8 is ace on fuel compared to say the 2.5 Cougar or 2.5 Subaru it's a smooth drive BUT if you can push finances to a Z28 do it for the extra :D factor!

haha but the extra grin factor is when the mpg go down......significantly..

another note, on my heads and cam, stalled and geared Z28 I still get 26 mpg on a run.
