Woohoo...

How did you find it ?

Silverstone and Snetterton are both great. Silverstone has many different layouts depending on what track day it is. Snetterton I personally really liked, with a great variety of corners and a long straight... Bedford is really good too, good value and not that far from you..

Google'd the coordinates and plugged it in my GPS.

I was looking at the La Sarthe track where they do the Le Mans and they don't do track days for tourists.

I'm fairly sure there are a few companies that do track days at Le Mans. It's not the full 24 race circuit, but the 3 mile long Bugatti circuit, which is still fabulous and contains a few of the famous corners like Dunlop bridge. http://www.trackdays.co.uk/tracks/le_man.htm

Great pics! Did you have to get special insurance or did you just hope you didn't have a accident?

I'd love to do it but I have heard some horror stories.

I didn't use any special insurance. I took a risk driving my car over there however I did it knowing the limitation of my car (street all season tires) and my inexperience of the track.

Horror stories you hear are probably about the people who drive their car like it's a "mission" or rather recklessly. If you know that you are the slower of the bunch just give way to the people who are driving faster, passing lane is at the left side of the road.

I did a warm up lap to know where are the chicanes/turns and what speed I should push my car and remembering a lot of it from there and went push the limits of my car on the 2nd lap.

Great pix by the way....

How did the car hold out for the sessions, brakes working well?

How many laps did you do?

One day.. one day :)

I did two laps consecutively. The brakes held up real well and the car was literally on rails when cornering. The brakes only faded soon after I did a 150+ MPH to almost 0 stop as I had to exit about 1 mile past gantry but it came back to firm right after.
