When I was checcking my RPO codes on CompNine (sadley no lomger available), it told me that my car was built on the 2nd Feb 1999. My VIN tells me that my production number is 24,520. There were 42,098 Camaro´s built in 1999. So that means they built 24,520 cars in the first 5 weeks of 1999 and under 18,000 in the last 47 weeks. It doesn´t make sense to me. Any ideas anybody? How can I find out when my car was built in 1999?. I can remember reading somewhere but can´t remember where that new production runs started in October. Is this correct? if so it would make more sense. Any help would be appreciated. |

I´ve been given an answer from the US. It seems that a model year production usually starts about August but can be as late as October. So the fact that mine was built in February means it was past the half way mark of the years model run ie. 1999. Interesting!!! |
