Hey all, I could do with touching up a few bits around the doors, especially as some a**hole decided to scrape my front bumper, looks really bad now Anyway, how do you find out the paint code used on the car and where does one go to get some? I assume it'll have to be specially mixed, I wouldn't think there would be some touch up stuff off the shelf? Couldn't find any info online Appreciate any help. Kind Regards DS |

I know certain Halfords will mix a touch up bottle while you wait. I can't remember if they colour check the car though. I had my car door sprayed because the lacquer was peeling off. The spray who did matched the paint to a Merc colour. He had a special tool that told him what type of paint it was. Maybe if you could find a close colour match this was you could got to halfords and get the to mix some up? |

Hi DS, There are two red´s for a 1998, 81U & 96U (the U stands for upper/or All) if it´s two tone you will have two codes one with the U and one with an L (lower). If you Google " Chevrolet Paint UK " you will get a number of choices for either "touch up " or " aerosol" whatever you want. Make sure you use the UK or you will get hundreds from the US. You can also contact your nearest Chevy dealer and tell them your paint code and they will be able to tell you if any of the current models are using your colour. I am lucky enough that the Black 41U is used on the Volt and Matiz models so it is ready available. Here are a couple of links to get you started. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Vehicle-Parts ... &_kw=Paint http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=C ... m270.l1313 Hope this helps. |
