Hello..................! :D

Seriously, I have a '93 3.4 Camaro. Been a around the world a bit! Built in Canada, exported to Japan them imported to the UK! She has Z28 on the back and a body kit. I think she has some sort of induction kit on her so maybe the Z28 designation is correct? Some help may be needed!

Only problem is she is currently off the road, has been for a couple of years. Now trying to get her sorted and back on the road. Only problem is she just won't fire. Can't hear the fuel pump prime so suspect that area first off. Does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is? My US haynes manual says usually behind the driver's kick panel so more detail would be good! Also the fuse, again the manual syas either in the box under the bonnet, or in the passenger compartment, can't find one that says Fuel Pump in the boxes I can find, any ideas?

Take it easy!! SG

im unsure about the 3.4 but on my 97 3.8 the relay is tucked behind the left-side kick panel in the drivers footwell.
Have you checked the small fuse box on the side of the dashboard??
Also under the bonnet on the driverside is a small black box with around 8 block relays in. One of those is the fuel pump. There should be a sticker on the underside of the lid thats says the location. Ill check mine if you need anymore help.

If you dash is lighting up but wont fire at all check the imobiliser. These can very often play up. Check camaroforums.com for more info

Thanks Spongebob.

I've tried both of those fuse boxes, none are labelled as Fuel Pump, but none are blown either so guessing it's not the fuse.

Dash lights up and the "security" light goes out so I think that means the VATS is recognising the key? JUst have the check gauges and engine management light on.

One weird thing, that she's always done, is that the voltmeter always sits at 18V, so not sure if the whole ECU is pickled!

And hope you lot don't think this a daft question......................!

I've seen a lot about the Optispark causing problems, though they all seem to be V8 posts on forums. Does the V6 use the optispark system? I've had issues in the past with overheating so wondering if that's FUBAR'd?

Not been on for ages, got my car to a mechanic (eventually!) as I have no space to work on the car. Long story short...

Car is a basket case so mechanic tried to talk me into putting her down, talked him round to at least trying to get her running, so eventually had a go.

Fuel pump was U/S so grafted in a jag pump, a bit of a trial to get the tank out, panhard rod and a rear spring out I think he said, didn't do the hole in the boot thing!! A bit gash IMHO.

Still no 12v to the pump but working off a separate battery. Found out the running rough problem was due to head gasket gone, so heads off! Found both a touch warped so had 5thou skimmed off both. Back in one piece and running!! Cat is completely shot so waiting for a new one from the states (£85 of ebay US!! Postage was about the same, just see how much HMRC will stiff me on import!).

Hopefully get the pump working properly and ready for Mot. Will need a full respray before she's tip-top, anyone had a respay? Just after indicative costs for this size of car.

So to the Mot... With a 4th gen car should the seat belts lock up with a tug? Or are they like the 3rd gen ones (which seem to have a weird interia system)? My car is a '93 so an early one, wondering if the 3rd gen ones may be fitted??? Any one help? Thanks.

No pics, yet, but hipefully post s few when she's better! :D
