Ok Guys, nice easy question :?: How do you adjust the height of the headrest.

At first I didn't think they did move but one of the guys I met at the Corvett show had his higher ( he was a tall bloke) which was fine for him but he said they were like that when he bought his car.

So, any answers :?:

Ive looked at the owners handbook for mine, the book tells you everything but the sodding headrest's and mine are one piece seat backs so I cant look for you sorry. :(

Mine just slide up, seemingly friction controlled. Don't appear to have any locks or releases.

Hope that helps

I assume the manuals are written for the American market and as it's only the EU spec 4th gens that have these headrests they don't bother rewriting the manuals.

Stuart, do your headrests move or are they just in a higher position?. I have tried moving mine with all the force I'm prepared to use in case of damage and also the guy at the Corvett show couldn't move his even though they were in a higher position and you couldn't see any locks or clips or anything which would stop them from moving.

I'm sure someone should know  anyone :?:

They slide up and down, seems to be no catch or lock on them. No great force to do it either.

Thanks for the info Stuart but I have given up. I've had the T-tops out and I have tryied pulling both the drivers and passenger headrests and neither will budge so thats it. Another failure, nevermind I suppose it's not that important but I just hate it when something doen't work as it should.

Thanks anyway.

Out of interest, my seats are leather are yours the same.

Are the headrests mounted on metal posts that have seized, rusted??

Hi Stuart,

Yea, they are leather seats. The ones I saw on the guy at the Corvett show were normal chrome stems. His weren't rusty or anything but his didn't move either. I assume mine are the same but as they are right down I can't see the stems. This is the best picture I have that shows the headrests.

I don't know why the seats are different but they must be.

I can stand outside the car and put my fingers underneath the front and back of the headrest and lift it with ease. Goes up about 2". No locks or catches in evidence.

Must be one of the option packages. I'll have a look into it.

Just wish the passenger seat went up and down, again one of the options.

Cheers.

Hi Stuart,

When you say the passenger seat, do you mean the seat itself or are you saying that the passenger seat headrest dosn't move only the drivers seat.

If you are talking about the seat itself going up and down I agree with you that it is a bit of a pain that it does't. Why they made all these small items options for just a few more dollars I don't know.

Cheers Gerry
