Hi Guys

Thought I would start a new topic so that other people can find it eaiser rather than it being in with the exhaust topic.

Anyway, the quote I recieved from Frank Pickles was £211 Fully Comp, with the Maganaflow exhaust being the only mod and 4000 miles limit, maximumum of £600 for windscreen replacement, £60 to pay for any repair.EU cover for 90 days and Legal Protection. plus some other bits and pieces. I have 9 years+ no claims with no convictions.

Cheers Gerry

Yeah, my insurance is due for both cars next month and i'm dreading it with the hike this year.

Someone in the government should be regulating this as Everyone who drives needs insurance and the prices are getting stupid. DAMN stupid :(

Agree we should have a sticky for all insurance quotes. It's gonna come up again with new members at some point.. It's very useful for people to see who others are using as a comparison for renewal time..

Hi guys,

Well I'm fed up with filling in forms and answering the same questions over and over again so I have now insured my car with A-Plan Insurance.

Here are some of the quotes I've had:-

Direct Line ( My current insurer, thats why I'm changing) £414.46
MCE Insurance £335.00
Graham Sykes Insurance £312.59
RH Specialist £233.10
Adrian Flux £230.00
Frank Pickles £211.20
A-Plan Insurance £188.62

They are all for the same quote and all the same conditions. It just goes to show the difference you can get with a bit of work. The last two are with the same Insurance Company just different brokers so even that makes a bit of a difference.

So anyway, as I said I've gone with A-Plan, paid my money and it all is valid from the 1st August.

Hope this is usefull to some of you guys. The information I got from A-Plan is if your car is older the insurance is less even though the car is worth more. He told me for example a 1965 Mustang would only cost me about £90 :o

So there you go, happy hunting.

Cheers Gerry

Hi

Starting to look at quotes and seeing some challenges.

I want up to 10,000 miles pa useage. Some don't want to do classic car insurance for mileages like this. Other limitations include classic car cover only for cars over 30 years old.

I need the miles, I thought I was only going to do around 5000 miles but had to extend the policy as I ran up 2000+ in 2 weeks in France early in the year so what with that and a further 4000 miles go on the clock since then. Planning another France trip next spring.

The car is only 12 years old. Actually only left the showroom 11 years ago.

Cheers!

I used to do 10k a year in my 97 Z28. I've always insured it with MCE. The first year was £950 but I was 23 and my wife was 23 as well, £650 the following year. I now pay at age 26 £430 for 5k a year.
