Morning guys Irritating problem. When I depress the brake pedal from speed it vibrates the steering wheel and at slow speeds slows to a stop in a rather jerky fashion. A month ago she flew through her MOT and I asked the fella to check the brakes, which he said were fine - no warped discs or whatever. The pedal pulses as if ABS is kicking in, even when it shouldnt. Im not copletely trusting of the verdict from the MOT place, but could it be something to do with the ABS system kicking in to early? Car is a 1998 Z28 LS1 with standard brakes. Cheers! |

Usually with a wobbling/juddering wheel, it's warped discs. I'd get them checked out first. |

its the disks, they can warp easily if they get nice and hot or you get some pad transfere on the disks. I spoke to 'Pezza' on here about this last week and he got the disks skimed as they were newish. He says it's all fine now |

Brilliant. Was sort of hoping it was that to be honest, anything electronical and ABS related I wouldnt understand. Assuming this is the issue, what discs/pads would you recommend as an upgrade? Cheers guys. |

Yes I had this issue and had both discs skimmed and returned the same day from the nice chaps at Bob Harman in Watford for about 50. I am running with EBC turbo groove discs and EBC red stuff pads..both have lots of life left in them hence I chose to skim the discs than replace at 260GBP for pads and discs. The combination works a treat, but I got caught out with heavy braking from xxx mph a few times and keeping foot on brake for a bit too long at rest I expect. (I need to engage my auto box driving brain again ) |
