You can make a manual fan switch for your camaro.

Heres a how - to, on installing a manual fan switch.
You can buy a similar switch from SLP Performance for around $70 dollars i beleive, this was NOT from SLP and in total parts it will cost around $10-$15.
Parts you will need:
*SPDT switch ( 3 position ) - $3.99 Radio shack, etc...
*Wire ( 16-22 ga. ) at least 20 ft to be safe.- around $4.00 wal-mart, radio shack , etc...
*Connectors - 0.99 for a 4 pack of connecters. , Several different types of connectors can be used. so figure $3-4 dollars.
*Electrical Tape- Under $2 bucks ( any store )
I just installed this , Febuary 1st, 2006 and I was nervous to do this thinking it wouldnt work if a company sold the same thing for alot more.
Heres some pictures and some pretty simple instructions on how to properly install this.
Heres the computer on the passenger side of the car against the firewall.. you will see two screws on the front side of the computer against the fender, remove these to slide the computer away from the firewall, and you will see a hole in the firewall in which you can use to run your wires for the switch through.
This is the plug on the passenger side fender that the wires you will be tapping into are located.
Theres wire loom covering the wire that leads to the plug, remove the tape around the end of the wire loom and pull the loom back exposing the wires like so.
This is a close up of the plug, the two wires youll be tapping into are blue & green (blue- fan high speed), (green- fan low speed)
This isnt a very clear picture, but if you look closely, I took a pair of wire strippers and pulled the plastic covering away from the wire, exposing bare wire.

Here, i took the red wire with about 3/4 inch bare wire, and wrapped it around the blue exposed wire. From here i used solder instead of connectors. so it will be a little bit different if you use connectors but either way im sure you get the point.
Heres a picture of me stripping the ends of the red wires with wire strippers
This picture shows now the blue wire after it has been soldered was taped then covered in heat shrink tubeing to keep the wire sealed.
Also the green wire is soldered and not taped yet, go ahead and get that one finsihed just like the blue wire.
Heres the blue and green wires finished and all taped up.
Now you can take the wire loom, and recover all the wires and finished up taping the wires to look nice.
This is the switch i bought from Radio shack, it's an SPDT switch ( single pole, double throw ) the basic 3 position switch without an LED.
Now mounting the switch isnt complicated but it was a fairly large switch, so i looked around and found a good place would be next to the OBD II on the drivers side under the dash., I drilled a hole thru the plastic the size of the switch.
Heres my switch, soldered with the wires hooked up.
The pattern goes ON*OFF*ON , one of the ON settings will be your LOW speed, and the Other ON setting will be your HIGH speed, The middle wire which is OFF, is just a ground, find a good place to ground that or the switch will not work.
So, the ON positions lead to the wires you tapped into under the hood, and the OFF is just grounded.
Heres another shot of the connections, close up.
After i soldered the wires, i taped them so there is no exposed wire showing.
After this is done, your basically finished and all you need to do is mount your switch like below. and TEST.

Looks good.
theres no reason you can't do this. It's very innexpensive and it only took around 1 hr to complete.
Very careful when doing this if you forget to turn off the fans, you'll run your battery dead.
