Back at last, been some few months!!
Got tranny replaced and seemed to be ok.
But when driving it home noticed that the car starts vibrating when going over 65ish mph and gets worse the faster I go!
Just wondering if its anything to do with the new tranny?
I'm going to get a tyre replaced and get all the wheels rebalanced at the same time (with the weights inside the wheel, looks better) and see if that makes any difference.
Out of interest, drove the car at speed when it was doing the vibration, slipped the auto into neutral but still vibration.
I'll post back after wheels have been rebalanced.

Regards
DS

you really dont wanna be sticking an auto box into neutral at speed !
as for the vibration, it's possible that if you turn the prop round 180 degrees, it will disapear........

Oh, jesus, read about the neutral thing on one of the other forums, some cr*p advice about!
Hopefully no damage was done!!
By 'prop', I assume you mean the driveshaft?

yeah, unbolt the drive/prop shaft from the diff, rotate it 180 degrees, try it again.

glad the box is in and the car is on the road

i also vote for drive shaft too if the wheels are all balanced up ok.

this is what mine does too but only after about 80 mph as I pulled out my drive shaft when i replaced the axle and didn't mark the orientation in the gearbox end

if a 180 turn doesn't help, you might have to slide drive shaft out of gearbox tail housing and try a 90 deg rotation. you may not cure the vibration fully as if you think abut it the gearbox will have worn in a particular direction in the other car and your drive shaft and axle worn in another way in your car so don't worry too much as long as its not bone shaking :O

oh... whats all this about not putting box in neutral at speed???

Cheers for the advice yet again
Had the tyres all balanced and all is ok now

"oh... whats all this about not putting box in neutral at speed???"
I assume doing this isn't actually a problem?

Kind Regards
David
