After getting back from Morrisons this morning (It's all 'glitz and glamour' when you own a Camaro!) i noticed the 'Low Coolant' light flickering on the dash.
The car was running at the normal temperature in traffic and when i checked the coolant level it was on the full mark. I've just been on a longer journey (about 5 miles) and the temp and fluid levels are fine but the light is still flickering constantly.
If it was a coolant problem, wouldn't the warning lamp stay on or flash at a constant rate? If so, i'm guessing the sensor is acting up or it has some other wiring problem?
Anyone come across this before? And am i ok to keep using it if make sure the fluids are all correct and the temp gauge doesn't shoot skyward?
Cheers,
Mel

I can't give you a direct answer, but
my car often suffers from the low coolant light on - on constant. It doesn't use any water and isn't low.
I've had the same problem with 2 other cars which I traced to the little sensor and am becoming of the opinion that they are unreliable as hey get older.

Well tonight it's been going off for a while then flickering a bit so i'm starting to think it's a loose connection caused by the Moon surface like roads we have in Sheffield!
I'll take a look tomorrow.
