Anyone know what if its possible to fit 225 tyres to the standard 16" wheels I need to buy 2 new rear tyres and I'd like to fit wider rears, they are currently 215

are you talking about the standard 16" wheels??? The standard size as I remember is 245/50 R 16. Check if the wheel is an 8 or 9 J wheel. Either way 225 will be better than 215 but you can go bigger! Hope this helps

Thanks for that yes they are standard 16" chrome 5 spokes, 225 tyres it is then!

check tyre cost too for 235 and 245 to see if you can get anything cheaper, there are sometimes an 'optimum' size for price, hence why 215 may have been on. Like i say 245 is standard width, well at least on my 99 Z28
