Yes I found a HT spark problem that I did'nt know I had until I sparyed some WD40 on the bont catch of my Camper, then boooom and a large plume of flame, Luck I'm already bald... anyway 5 seconds later and a change off underwear it was all over.
I would imagine squiting water on HT lead's could be just as SHOCKING but no it work's I've tried it, it like a mini lightening storm

Sorry to laugh at your misfortune Pa's F-bodies did it also singe yer nose hairs

Its quite a sight to see how big a gap you can get between the plug lead and an earth point on modern coil pack vehicles about 1.5 inches at atmospheric pressure but compress the air to 200 psi and it can struggle to jump the plug gap of 1.2mm so it takes the easy way down the outside of the porcelain to earth.
Bigger gap to jump but less resistance electricity is so lazy

No worries z28stu, not a misfortune (that was 3 years ago) but a learning expirence, and it just show's that after 40 year's of "fixing stuff" we still learn from our mistakes, well should do

As a lad I was apprenticed to someone who would check the spark by pulling off a plug lead from a running engine, wetting his finger, and sticking it in the cap
I tried it once
