any advise for classic car insurance. I have a 67 camaro, i'm 26 and having a real hard time this year!
It's never going to be easy when you are younger, (seem to remember being that once!) however, consider what you actually want before calling around.
The list of insurance brokers listed here should be enough to get a good result - think though on how many miles you will want to do and whether you need to be covered comprehensively or whether you only want 3rd party fire and theft. TPF&T is OK if someone hits you or your car is stolen but no good if you have an accident with no-one else involved. Will the car be kept in a garage overnight, on a drive or on the street, the more the value of the car the more the insurer wants it in a garage overnight. Is it fitted with an alarm / immobiliser - if the car is high value (and a 67 may well be) then it may pay to get an alarm / immobiliser fitted, but if you do make sure it's a good high grade Thatcham approved one as that's what the insurer wants you to have and they may ask for the certificate of installation.
Some insurers add in extras, legal expenses, breakdown cover etc, do you need them or have you already got them? I found I'm using my car for weekends and holidays including trips to France so decent mileage allowance is needed, but it adds to the price.
Write down what you want and then pick up the phone and see whats out there.
Good luck!
