Hi Guys,

I have been checking my RPO codes listed on my drivers door and I found out some interesting things such as:-

GU6 rear axel 3.42..... I thought mine was a standard 3.08

G80 Limited Slip Diff.... Didin't know this but very Happy :D

Y87 Performance Enhancement 3800 GT.....Nothing to do with the engine, it's a handleing package with the suspention upgraded to the same as the V8, better ride better steering. :)

Plus a couple more that I can't find out what the package includes

1SA Option Package 1........No idea

T2H & T2J Export Ornamental Packages....No idea

My car was built on the 10th Feb 1999 and it was 1 of 47 with the Identical RPO codes made in 1999 and sent to the EU. 8-)

All very interesting but I would like to know what these Option Packages are so if anybody can help I would be very gratefull.

Another thing my codes showed was that my car Did Not come with the Key-Less entry or the Immobilizer Anti theft system. However mine does have both of these but I have always thought that it was an "aftermarket" system even though the original owner form new tells me it was on the car when he purchased it. Stranger and stranger. More digging to do.

Thanks for the input guys.

The 1SA is the Standard Option package so everyone gets that unless they upgrade.

The T2H & T2J I think are to do with the indicator lights on the side.

It's great to find out all this stuff, if only I could find out about my Immobillizer I would be content. More digging required.

This may answer your outstanding question. It talks about keyless entry as an option from new.

Thanks for the posts guys and thanks for the links Stuart.

This is what I have found out.

AU0 Remote Keyless Lock Control

UA6 Anti Theft Deterent System

Both of these codes are an "option" from new and unfortunately my car was not equiped with them.

However my car does have a Keyless entry system and a Anti theft system which seem to work very simular to what is described in the Owners manual. But when I found the control unit and took it apart it had no names on it only some UK patent numbers and frequency's and a few letters and some other numbers. The remote fob looks like a "Toad" alarm system but after discussions with a "Toad agent" he inform me it wasn't a Toad because the frequency's were too high. So what make it is I do not know.

My problem with all this is that I only have 1 remote fob which you have to use to start the car. After opening the car with the fob if I do not put the key in the ignition and start the engine within 30 seconds the immobilizer will arm itself again. The key will then do nothing, no cranking nothing, which sounds like a problem with the VATS system. But if I press the open button on the fob again the engine starts fine. This is all Ok because it all works fine, the problem is if I lost the Remote fob I would not be able to start the car. I cannot get into the program system as described in the manual to program another remote because my system is not original.

So any clues anybody???

Do I try and bypass the VATS system? But this would make the car easy to steal.
Do I remove the Remote Keyless and immobilizer system completley and install another?
Will this screw everything up?
Do I leave it all well alone and pray that I do not loose the Remote fob?

Iv'e been trying to sort this out now for 18 months and it's really starting to annoy me that I can't sort it out so any help would be appreciated.

Try the UK Cadillac team in their UK HO. When I had trouble with my Blazer I spoke with a man that originally worked for Chevrolet and then moved over to Cadillac. He knew all about the immobiliser and alarm systems and got me sorted out.

It's worth a try!

Alternatively, I understand that Bauer Millet in Midlands have all the stuff you might need to help.

Again, worth a try.
