A return hose from my Cylinder head burst resulting in the opti getting wet. I thought is was waterproof.
ran the car for a couple of miles then it cut out, restarted after some time and ran rough. I limped it home and it has refused to start since. So time for an optispark replacement again!!!

The msd Opti has a venting kit with it so it gets rid of the moisture problem. I was going to fit one when i had mine changed but i started reading stuff about them failing too. I ended up with a Chandler Motorsports one and it's been fine so far. :)
Bet that's jinxed it now...

I have a chandler optispark. although it is unvented I modified it so that the 3 weep holes are connected to a filter via brass tubing. See my previous posting for details. It maybe that ozone has built up in the cap aiding the failure.
I have ordered a new dizzy from Chandler and will modify it so that clean air is pulled through via the inlet system.
I will take some pics as I do the job. I still think replacing an Optispark is quite an easy job. Try working on a G60 Corrado!!!!

Finally fitted the uprated MSD optispark system. There are no problems fitting it and it is def a lot better constructed than the original GM opti or the replacement Chandler opti system.
My Opti is now vented!
Just got to put the water pump back on and refit the cooling fans. By binning the aircon system and yards of plastic cowling etc There is loads of room under the bonnet.

The monster will be breathing soon!!!! ( Just in time for next racing season)

I always said I will be racing at Easter....Just never said which Easter!!!!

By the way the head gasket went on my Corrado G60 last November. I put a bottle of K Seal in as a temp measure and its still going strong!!!!

Can you post a pic when it's finished? I'd like to see how much more room you have now as i can barely see the Engine in mine when i look under the hood :)
