 Post subject: Wheel alignment settings

And another query.
My tyre size is the stock 215/60/R16.
I would like to get the alignment settings, just in case my garage doesn't know, or worse use the wrong ones, anyone help?

I think the alignment setting is 0.0. I've told my garage this and they agreed

be careful how it is setup, as apparently the thrustline method should be used as the rear axle is non adjustable unless you have an aftermarket panhard rod, so the front wheels need to be aligned relative to the rear and compensate for any offset. Basically the toe is measured relative to lines drawn up from the front wheels, i did get mine aligned once but fter getting it set up my car dragged to one side. Since, i've set it up myself after measurements and trial and error and a fair few hours.
Stock would prob be 0 toe or a little toe out, mid caster and bit of negative camber

i've maxed my caster, camber is on half as it is lowered and the tires physically look to point out at the bottom, and have toe about 0, given my measurements with bits of rope hahaha :D

Thanks for the replies guys and sorry for the massive delay in replying, I've been without internet for the last month :-(

The problem I'm having is after they do the alignment the steering wheel is a little squint(if I drive with the wheel straight the car goes to the left rather than straight!), not a huge issue but annoying, especially as it was fine before they got their hands on it!!
Does wheel size have any bearing on all this??

Got these from maudy's link above:-

Caster +3 degrees +/- .5 degree
Camber +1 degree +/- .5 degree
Toe in .15 degree +/- .5 degree

nope wheel size shouldn't make a difference, bigger/woder wheels just make steering heavier

the problem could be that the toe is slightly off, or the camber is off. Remember roads do slope slightly left to allow water to run off so with the wheel straight you are more likely to veer left?
Anyways, a good alignment shop maybe able to properly set up the car and account for this. I've set mine up so i'm happy with it but the wheel is slightly off as I havent got the toe perfectly forwards whemn the wheel is straight.

Yes, I'm aware about the road thing, but the steering etc was all fine before they got their hands on it to 'fix' it!!! :roll:
