Hello again Been enjoying the Camaro but noticed the speedometer is showing 10 MPH faster than I'm actually moving when checking it against my sat nav. Is it possible to alter it to show something approaching the real speed? It might be great for avoiding speeding tickets but I don't like to drive like an old biddy |

Silly question, but are the tyres slightly bigger than stock ? |

As Stu says, chances are tyres are different from factory - they likely came with 215 / 65 / 15. What you can do is change the speedo gear, which is really easy. You just pull out the speedo drive cable from the transmission (drivers side) and there will be plastic gear. You can buy different tooth'd gears - there's a thread in the tech questions about this, hopefully between the 2 of you, you can work out which size gear is needed for each application. It's an easy job once you've figured out the gear you need, hope that helps! |

Okay thanks for that, tyres don't seem to be the problem. Right, so can someone tell me where I can order a dry sunny day so I can sort the paint chips out? |

This is a known fault, mine did the same here is the link on the online encyclopedia: http://www.thirdgen.org/forums/electron ... amaro.html If the wheels/ tyres are stock and the axle ratio is too and gearbox of course then it is the electronic module that sits behind the dash. Basically it has some precision resistors that go out of wack for some reason, they really shouldn't degrade if you ask me, but they do. A bit fiddly to work on but doable if your handy with a soldering iron If this link doesnt answer the question there are others on that site, really for all tech questions should just post a link to that site. Pretty much every trouble I have ever had has been solved by searching on that site. Loads of cool projects etc to look at |

Got to be honest and think it's the dials/display themselves, it might be why it's saying the engine is running cool. Anyone ever changed them out and know if it's difficult to do? I saw some nice cream dials on Carid a while back which took my fancy |

Every car I have ever used a sat nav in shows a difference of about 10mph, even my 6 month Honda crv shows I'm doing 30 on the speedo yet the GPS on my dashcam shows I'm doing 26 |

It looks like a couple of dials aren't right though. I have to admit cream coloured dials would be better for my tired old eyes, the 'black on black' can be a little difficult to see if it isn't light outside
