Looks interesting and a good idea, let us know how it fits.

I would have thought about one, but I literally ordered a 2nd hand replacement top panel from Rocky yesterday!

I´m hoping it´s heat resistant like they say, the cracks in mine are dreadful.

I´ve finally got it here BUT........

The Ebay ad said,

THE ONLY TRUE HYBRID HIGH TEMP DASH CAP AVAILABLE(WONT WARP IN THE HEAT!
FACTOR TEXTURED FINISH
SEAMLESS FIT
SOLUTION TO THE NOTORIOUS CRACKED AND WEATHERED DASH
FITS THE CHEVY CAMARO FROM 1984-1992
THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT DASH, IT IS A DASH CAP THAT ATTACHES TO YOUR EXISTING DASH
BOX TOO LARGE TO SHIP OUTSIDE CONTINENTAL U.S.
THE GLUE THAT YOU WILL NEED FOR INSTALLATION COMES INCLUDED!

The instructions tell me to park in the shade or cover the windscreen.....OR it will warp and crack.

I´ve asked the seller about this and he tells me to follow the instructions and he´s telling his ad man
to change the ad.

BOX TOO LARGE TO SHIP OUTSIDE CONTINENTAL U.S. Doesn´t seem to be true either.

w*ankers :(

I'd dispute it with ebay, say that you were missold an item as it was misrepresented etc. i'm sure you know the drill.

Question is...what do you want the outcome to be?
1) keep it (happy with a full / partial refund as item wasn't as described)
2) Have it sent back, with the deal that the seller pre pays for a courier to pick it up and refunds the value.

I wonder if there are any sellers out in UAE that sell these type of parts? A mate of mine had a 2011 Camaro that he bought in Kuwait new from a dealer and it had a different spec i.e different materials used on the dash to withstand the heat better. I wonder if parts sold in that area are also made to a different spec?

He´s told me he will honour any warranty claim if I have to make one.

Dammit I want that on my car, the existing dash top is rubbish it needs to be covered.
So I don´t want to send it back.

At least the car is under cover at home, I´ll just have to cover the screen when parked
on the road.

I´ll do some pics as son as I get time.

Pretty pissed off right now.
I´d say the fit of this piece is iffy in places BUT apart from that the two front corners are already split
and one of the side air vent holes is way off.

Image

This corner looks like it has had some repair work done.

Those splits just did´nt show on first inspection, being in the corners they´re like sprung loaded and held closed.
I´ve informed the seller of these points.

That is pretty bad, as new, shouldn't have any splits :( If anything, those corners should be reinforced. Wonder if that was not new... someone tried it, sent it back and they sent that out? Have you heard anything from the seller? That is pretty poor workmanship for it to be damaged in both corners before installing. I had a bit of a tear in a corner when installing the new vinyl seat covers but they were under a fair bit of stress. Let us know what the seller says...

Sent those pics to the seller, he was pretty annoyed it turned up in that state.

He replied to that email with, "Is the cap too short end to end?".

I have a print out of the ebay ad with the misleading statement about not warping in the heat,
which really attracted me to the cover.
