Post subject: | Help - T-Top Seals |
Sorry for the cry for help, but I've just created a major headache for myself. When I bought my car it came with a new set of replacement T-Top seals as the current set leak. The kit is a SoftSeal kit 3191 and states that it fits 82-92 camaro / firebird. I assumed this was correct and (stupidly!) ripped out one of my current seals. I then went to offer it up and it is completely different to mine The replacement kit has square corners for under the T-Top glass, mine are curved / rounded. It's too dark to take pictures of mine at the moment. But does anyone have any idea which are the correct seals? Did they change the design at some point, in which case why are the replacements listed as fitting up to 1992. Or is my car weird in some way? As I don't have a garage my car is not watertight any more. Luckily she is under a cover, but I'm still worried it'll get wet so I need to source the correct part as quickly as possible. I've also therefore got a brand new / unused T-Top seal for sale, provided yours has square corners of course! Offers invited!!! Thanks |

Dude (sorry, can't help using that word. I'm stoked!) you saved me! I've tried everywhere, or I thought I had. Already tried Rock Auto (only list the one type, square one again). Tried loads of other places, but not Hawks. Turns out there were two types fitted, one (the usual one) is square and is 'Fisher'. The other one has rounded corners and is called 'Cars and Concepts', but curiously Hawks list this type as an aftermarket T-Top whilst the Fisher is factory installed. Not sure how you would carry out an aftermarket installation........ Many thanks, can get the new seals ordered now. Anyone need a new Fisher type T-Top seal kit? |
