Installing a 700R4 into my 89 RS, which originally had EFI but now runs a holley carb. Unfortunately trying to figure out what logic the previous owners followed when doing the conversion is a little difficult as there are enough wires to go to the moon and back. The plug pictured below was left disconnected and I need to know how I can wire it up, its on top of the trans and I believe that its for the torque converter lock up? |

Thanks for the diagram, I am still having some issues with this, relating to the TV cable When I collected the car from the shop the guy who has rebuilt the trans said we need to order the propper TV cable bracket from holley, I got one from real steel which is pictured below. This was to replace the hacked up metal bracket that the phantom badger had used to position the TV cable ratchet, which probably lead to the initial failure of the trans. Now, I have fitted the correct bracket however the cable is still really slack, and at wide open throttle it is nowhere near pulled out fully. So has anyone had any similar experiance? and can anyone with a 700R4 and running a holley carb send me a pic of there set up to check against my own? |

Now, I have fitted the correct bracket however the cable is still really slack, and at wide open throttle it is nowhere near pulled out fully. It is still connected inside the trans ? I use one of these, http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/t ... /overview/ Had to modify it somewhat where it fastens to the carb throttle arm. |

i think its still connected as i can feel resistance when I pull the cable, it is just as if the cable is too long by about 3/4 inch. I know I now have the correct brackets so cant figure out whats wrong and the guy who rebuilt the trans is not being very helpful. I watched a vid on youtube so know how the ratchet mechanism works on the cable, but there is no way that there's enough adjustment to take up the slack in this cable |

I have spoken to the guy who rebuilt the gearbox today and he is asking me to drive it to his workshop as is, which is about 30 miles. Am I correct in thinking that this will damage the clutches inside the box, or will it be safe if I take it easy as he says? Starting to get annoyed by this as he shouldn't have asked us to collect until it was sorted, but he needed it outta the way. |
