Currently my 89 is running a 305 with a four barrel holley and a (possibly knackered) 700R4, have looked for a gearbox for a while and not seen any for sale, then I thought about changing the engine and box for something a bit more lairy,

From what I can gather that engine came from a 63 Truck originally, I tried to decode the block number given in the advert "FO 716 M" however for 63 M code was a 283ci engine and the seller believes that this one listed is a 350

Anyone advise if this engine and gearbox would fit?

This just my personal viewpoint so don't take it personally. That looks like a pile of mismatched junk jammed together either just to sell or possibly to go into a hotrod where looks outweigh any performance or drivability. Sure it would fit but I would avoid it like the plague. But then I tend not to trust anyone else's engines from experience and prefer to do my own. That way I know what's going on and I can make it do what I want it to. HTH
Cheers, Martin

Yeah but yer man was really after a gearbox (sludgebox) not so much the engine. Just stick a manual box in there and be done. Heh Heh.

When my 700R4 went south I only had one option...Summit, bought one built by B/M.
That went south too, but Summit paid the cost to ship it back to them and they shipped me a replacement.

Doesn't look like a Bad engine, the guy has mentioned he is still in touch with the previous owner so ask for receipts and any documentation that should be with it?

As for real steal, stay well away. As nice as there prices are if you need to return anything or have a faulty product they will be the biggest bunch of ass holes known to the world.

They will lie, bullshit you, ignore you and generally try everything not to refund you.
