Hi peeps need advice in what I would need in order to swap (pain in the tits) Tbi for a good old trusty carb set up apart from stating the obvious carb, manifold, coil, dizzy set up, what would be the exact carb, manifold, etc etc would suit my 91 RS 305???? Sick to death of trying to sort out the Tbi set up,1 new IAC, fuel pump all new vacuum pipes and a fully cleaned and functioning EGR yet still not wanting to run/idle properly, any help would be great guys cheers |

I just checked and TBi set-up runs at around 13psi so a carb will want around half that (6psi ish), so that won't be an issue. I'd have thought just fuel and vaccuum lines to hook it up. Edelbrock carbs are easy to set up and run well from the box. |

Ive been thinking along the same lines although im only occasionally getting a high idle and 95% of the time it runs lovely ! (the high idle didnt used to notice so much untill the exhaust went straight through) I would like to know what happens to mpg though, when you chose yourself a camaro it isnt high on the list of priorities however the 30mpg ive seen on a run is brilliant ! Third gen.org have an article in the tech column which is very good, gives you a shopping list and detailed run through. Regards Al |

And while you are at it you can convert the brakes to cable operated drums, fit solid tyres and acetylene lamps, and have the windscreen wipers modified to operate by vacuum. Why are you going back in time? |

I will have to tinker with the jet settings and an emission's tester the car still does have the smog system fitted may just have to adjust the carb so it runs with it rather than against it and well if all else fails nothing a cheeky £20 in the sun visor wont sort out
