I´ve seen various types of these for sale but always thought the price too high and some seemed so big and ugly. A long time ago i made up the bar to tie the strut towers together with the intention of completing the setup later, that is tying it to the firewall. The most awkward part was that bracket on the firewall, to get it the right shape and get the bolt holes in the right place. I ended up with three bolts to hold it on and inside the plenum is another thick plate to reinforce. Last week I finally did the deed, and it looks like this....sans paint. When I drove the car after finishing I was more than surprised how the car had benefited. No more creaks and groans from the body and I´m sure it responds better when cornering. If you look behind the front wheels of your 3rd gen I bet you can see the seams opening on the frame to firewall. I noticed that when jacking my Camaro and letting it onto axle stands there was a lot of body sag, this might just cure it. |

Good work... those look nice and neat.. These are big heavy cars, and definitely can do with some bracing in many areas. My front frame braces I had made for my 2nd gen really help with limiting body flex.. |

I also have this Wonderbar down below, highly recommended to brace the frame where the steering box mounts to the chassis. On some models it was a stock item. |

Blimey they look good, look like they've been bought from a shop Quote: My front frame braces I had made for my 2nd gen really help with limiting body flex
Have you got any pics Stu? I'm working on some reinforcements, recently completed a triangulating brace from chasis to rad support. Cheers! |

They look pretty good. I found out mine can be a nuisance when changing spark plugs. Another elbow is needed. |
