I get Classic American every month. Has anyone else noticed that every month pretty much exactly the same cars are for sale in the classifieds? Especially thirdgens- seems like nothing is selling. Also on ebay, not only am I surprised by the amount of thrd's but more of a concern is that the same cars often come back up as they don't sell.

Finally, half the time the ads are very poorly written, clearly but some gimp. Things like spelling it Camero etc...

Just ranting :)

Car Details:68 pontiac firebird coupe project car,my aim is a street friendly, lightly modified pro.touring style.
Lowered ,mild body mods,400 cu in SBC engine, Muncie 4speed, 10 bolt posi axle, disc front drum rear.
68 firebird convertible ( long term project) Stock resto/mod style ,400 pontiac th350
Poor spelling [ especially Camero  ], photos taken with a phone and glaring inaccuracies in the descriptions....no wonder they can't sell them....
I think the prices of the good 3rd gens will soon start to rise as they start to get rarer as the rough ones are recycled .
Prices seem to vary wildly - overpriced v6s and the occasional cheap IROC ,never seen a cheap IROC that didn't sell quickly .

They are still a few attrocities out there that I really can't wait to be scrapped. This will happen over time and yes they will go up in value but by then we will all be driving electric cars :)

Thanks for the reply by the way, sad to see so little activity on these boards.

You set for some shows this summer?

Its usually a good one will sell and then every one thinks theirs is worth the same if not more. I think my yellow Iroc was the last of the bargains around.

You set for some shows this summer?

It is a bit of a struggle to get topics going on the club boards ,but maybe once the winter is over and the season starts things will liven up a bit .
I'm into a resto on my Firebird coupe at the moment so my show season will be limited to days out like AACI Billing ,or any local events . I try to get to Mopar Nats every year as you get a good selection of all muscle makes there ,later in the year Buntingford day in Hertfordshire is a good day .
Firebird won't be finished this year unfortunately ,so only a daily for me this year .

Sounds like it is going to be fantastic when finished but shame you will have the summer without it? Is Billing ok these days? Just seemed a bit peaky last time I was there and not very safe if you know what I mean...

lots to do on the firebird ,can't wait to get it on the road, keep meaning to get some pix up on here...
Think I know what you mean about Billing ,same trouble with a lot of things these days ,spoilt by a few idiots . I was thinking about starting a small local meet for some of the Southern guys around the Herts/Bucks borders when the clocks change and the weather is a bit more reliable [if that is possible in the UK ;) ]
