Hi i have a 86 z28 and the seat belts dont seem to lock when yanked hard or under hard breaking does any one have the same problem or are they just like that [as wife not happy about going through screen and as they are expensive im not happy about her braking it] :thumbup:

They're like that. The inertia lock works on the inertia of the car, not the reel. The best way to test them I know of is to remove it from the car and then tip it towards the ground (so it's orienteated the same as if the car was standing on it's nose) and it should lock. If it doesn't lock somethings up. The same works for the seats too.
