I was having a bit look about on that popular auction website and there is a seller who is a yank car breaker and the picture they have used to advertise the rear bumper cover is my car!!!! so my car must of been through their hands at some point, not very happy that they have my number plate on view.

I wouldn't worry too much about your plate being on display. I used to blur all mine until I realised no one at a car show taking a photo of it will do the same!

That'd be Rocky - Richard at American Car Technique in Watford. That's where I drove your car!

Richard's good and knows these cars very well. He's a good source of parts, too.

well not done much with the ole girl apart from driving and enjoying her,
when I first got the camaro it would start fine but a strong smell of fuel from the exhaust so treated her to some tlc the dizzy cap was some what furry inside so cleaned it up and the car ran better and smoother but still not 100% so new set of plugs fitted ( billy bargain £10 for 10 ac delcos NOS) yet again improved things but still not 100% one of the HT leads was tracking out so now she is running 100% on all 8 pots alot smoother and a nice v8 roar.
theres still a quite a few jobs I want to do to her but I am treating her as a rolling project and would rather enjoy driving it for whats left of the summer then the winter I can tinker its one of those cars if you can do the work yourself there is very little money involved just time

As I said on the other post, this looks really clean and in good condition, is it as good as it looks?

well tackled a few more jobs on mine yesterday give the engine/bay a good clean as it had 25yrs of grime looks a lot better and since the day I bought the car it had a oil leak on the gearbox so washed the box of ran about in the car abit it looked like the leak was from the speedo sensor popped it out and the O ring was split, I had bought a box of O rings from the pound shop about 3 yrs ago and there was one in the box the right size. the oil in the box looked good nice bright red colour but dropped the oil anyways and put fresh ATF in and apart from the leak been fixed the gear change is alot more slick.
next big job is to track down and fix all the rattles it has, the mirrors make a rattle sound when going over bumps the door glass rattles when halfway down multi rattles and squeaks from interior trim cant imagine there will much in the way of cost just time.
I had a very annoying squeaky noises from the Ttops when the body was flexing over bumps, greased up the rubbers with silicone grease and that has reduced the noise quite a bit.

It's okayish, there's a few scrapes and chips that need sorting but nothing to difficult. The interior though is really good for 119k. That's the only niggle the high mileage, what is this car like, can it go on for ages with the right care? Oh, and the alloys are a bit battered, something I can get sorted in time though
